The AdmissionsGenie feature portfolio includes:
Content Management ToolsOur easy-to-use, Web-based tools allow non-technical users to add, edit, and remove content on their Web site. Administrative users can also add or remove different communication modules such as blogs, message boards, and chat to specific sections of the web site. In addition, the tools allow site administrators to manage their email communication. The content management tools are available via the Web browser 24/7 and changes can be submitted and posted live.
Role-based User ExperienceIn addition to the standard steps of the admissions process (prospect, applied, accepted, enrolled), AdmissionsGenie takes you further, giving your school the flexibility to define additional roles and then customize those roles for an individual student. Students may also be assigned to multiple roles simultaneously. (See role definition at right)
BlogsAdmissionsGenie includes blogs as one of its communication modules. Site administrators can control who has access to the blogging module and how blog posts and comments are managed and moderated. Once blogs are established, site administrators can use the CMS tools to determine where and in which role blogs will appear. They can also give specific users edit rights, so they can add, edit, or delete posts right from the site and not have to go through the module.
Event RegistrationProspective students can now apply online as well as register for other campus events. Specific event information and registration are available depending on student login. In addition, once the student registers for the event, he or she will receive a virtual calendar file in the confirmation email. This calendar file easily imports into most calendaring programs.
Podcasting/RSSOur podcasting and RSS features allow site administrators to upload podcast (audio or video) files right from their desktop and set attributes, including a full description and thumbnail image. Then, podcasts can be syndicated using the RSS module. This will push the podcasts out to prospective students who have subscribed to your feed. The RSS module will also syndicate other content including news, events, articles, and blog posts.
To-Do ListOnce prospective students log in to your Web site, they can create their own "to do" list by picking from a predetermined group of tasks. The items they can choose from are based on login or status in the admissions process. The site administrator can determine what tasks need to be completed at each point in the process; the students then choose from that predefined list. "To do" items include a due date as well as an expiration date. Once the "to-do" list is set up, students are able to sort the items in their list by seeing all items, completed items, or uncompleted items.
File ManagerLike your Explorer window with a similar file and folder structure, this new feature allows you to manage your digital assets - documents, PDFs, audio files, video files, or images - all in one location. You can add, update and remove folders and files to meet your specific requirements. Web site administrators can then link the files to specific pages on the Web site. In addition, the File Manager gives the site administrator a birds-eye view of all the assets being used and their locations on the site. This tool makes it easy to reuse approved media and other assets required for consistent messaging and brand management. The File Manager also allows site administrators to load assets into a prospective student's photo gallery. For example, take your camera to the next admission event and make sure you get pictures of prospects with key campus leaders. Then upload the picture to their gallery for use on their student profile.
Advanced PersonalizationPersonalization features are available throughout our AdmissionsGenie solution. The welcome message prospective students see when they visit the Web site can be personalized based not only on their status in the admissions process, but also on variables such as major, special interest, or hometown. In addition, site administrators can configure AdmissionsGenie to deliver a personalized Web experience to prospective students. Based on the information a prospective student provides, content can be delivered to the homepage that is of most interest to the student. Student-authored profiles now offer an advanced WYSIWYG editor giving students the ability to give “personality” to their profile. They can upload pictures to use on the profile page as well as store them in an image gallery for other enrolled students to view.
Message Board EnhancementsWhile message boards have always been a popular AdmissionsGenie feature, our latest version takes this tool to a new level. With a completely new user interface that shows posts, replies, and threads, prospective students are able to quickly see the latest posts without having to first click the message title. Students are now able to set their own preferences, including the ability to see posts based on a date range they select from a pull-down menu. In addition, an icon is activated when other students log on to the Web site, allowing students to converse in real-time on your Web site. Site administrators now have the ability to “pin” any message they deem most valuable or of greatest importance. By “pinning” a message, the message is immediately moved to the top of the message board and stays there until the site administrator removes the pin. Administrators also have the ability to set up numerous message boards and students see the appropriate message board based on login.
FAQ ToolAdmissionsGenie makes it easy to answer students’ most common questions with its FAQ tool. Site administrators input the questions and answers, and then prospective students visiting the Web site can use the search feature to find answers to their questions. In addition, the questions that are viewed the most, show up in a separate “most popular questions” window.
