Blue Ox Mailbox Version 4.14 Enhancement Release

The August 10, 2007, release of Blue Ox Mailbox Version 4.14 provided users with upgrades that make it faster and easier to:

Create and Edit Messages

New and improved HTML Editor: For those who prefer to use a "What You See Is What You Get" (WYSIWYG) editor instead of copying and pasting code, check out our new HTML Editor. It replaces the previous version, formerly known as the HTML Helper. Enhancers or mail merge tags using < > characters will now appear in the HTML editing window.

Browser Support: The new HTML Editor now supports multiple Web browsers - including Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 2.

Same Easy Access: You'll find the new HTML Editor in exactly the same place as the previous HTML Helper. When you create HTML messages, it appears on the right-hand navigation bar.

Upload Lists

Queue Status: When you upload files using the background function, you can now tell exactly where each list stands. A new "Queue Status" message shows which files are still in process and which have finished uploading. Queue Status appears on the File Upload Page, just below the Upload File box.

Parallel Queing: When you use the Upload Queue function, small files and large files now process at the same time. This means that small files no longer get stuck in the queue behind larger ones.

Email Notification: On those rare occasions when a large file fails to upload during the background uploading process, you will be alerted via email, so you can try again.

Increased file size: You no longer have to break your large files into smaller pieces. We've increased the maximum file size for uploads from 4MB to 50MB per file.

Integrate with Salesforce: Blue Ox is now a Salesforce AppExchange Certified partner - making it quick and easy to send highly-targeted email campaigns to your existing Salesforce contacts. Blue Ox's implementation includes a two-way exchange of data that lets you create, send and manage email campaigns directly from Salesforce.com, and lead status is automatically updated based on users' responses.

...And More

Pop-Up Calendars: display a pop-up calendar from a report using our improved functionality.

Visual Message Report: If you can't see all of your links or are experiencing rendering problems with the report that overlays open and click-through data on top of your original message, try the following:

  • Instead of <area><map> functions, use <table>/<div> tags.
  • Do not use JavaScript to document.write() or use JavaScript in the body of your messages.
  • Do not put links inside of a Flash (.swf) file.
  • For duplicate URLs, expect report data to display only on the URL's first occurrence.
  • Encode "+," the plus-sign character, in your messages as %20.
  • Reduce excessive code between the <a> and </a> tags, including very long URLs and entire paragraphs that are linked.
  • Remove relative or absolute positioned <div> tags.

Survey-Completion Triggers: When users complete surveys, triggers now automatically fire. Email Notification for Reports: The new email report is available for any of the links in the Delivery Statistics section of the Standard Message Report:

  • Sent
  • Total Opened
  • Unique Opened
  • Unique Clicked
  • Unsubscribed
  • Bounced

Single vs. Aggregate Statistics: Statistics from the Single Campaign report and the Aggregate Message report are now in sync. We've corrected previous discrepancies.

New Subscribers/Unsubscribers URL: When you download the New Subscribers or New Unsubscribers report, we now direct you to the correct URL.
